Research Focus
- My research lies at the intersection of epidemiology, spatiotemporal analysis, infectious diseases, and health equity. I focus on:
- Examining the spatial and temporal distribution of health outcomes
- Investigating place-based and structural determinants of infectious diseases (HCV, HIV, Zoonotic diseases) and syndemics
- Analyzing geographic accessibility to health services and its impact on care and outcomes
- Applying spatial analytic methods to uncover geographic health inequities
- Informing targeted, equity-driven public health interventions
- I am also committed to advancing spatial thinking in public health research and education by integrating geographic frameworks into epidemiology and promoting rigorous, equity-oriented spatial analysis.
Methodological Expertise
- Statistical models such as the regression models
- Machine learning models such as LASSO, Elastic Net, and Random Forest models
- Spatial regression models
- Spatial accessibility models, such as gravity models
- Systematic reviews and meta-analyses
- Cross-sectional, cohort, case-control, and RCT study designs
