Research Focus

  • My research lies at the intersection of epidemiology, spatiotemporal analysis, infectious diseases, and health equity. I focus on:
    • Examining the spatial and temporal distribution of health outcomes
    • Investigating place-based and structural determinants of infectious diseases (HCV, HIV, Zoonotic diseases) and syndemics
    • Analyzing geographic accessibility to health services and its impact on care and outcomes
    • Applying spatial analytic methods to uncover geographic health inequities
    • Informing targeted, equity-driven public health interventions
  • I am also committed to advancing spatial thinking in public health research and education by integrating geographic frameworks into epidemiology and promoting rigorous, equity-oriented spatial analysis.

Methodological Expertise

  • Statistical models such as the regression models
  • Machine learning models such as LASSO, Elastic Net, and Random Forest models
  • Spatial regression models
  • Spatial accessibility models, such as gravity models
  • Systematic reviews and meta-analyses
  • Cross-sectional, cohort, case-control, and RCT study designs
